IHE Employer of the Year
Awarded to the organisation demonstrating an ongoing commitment to the training and development of all staff, ranging from highways operatives through to chartered level. Open to employers in both the private and public sector - Consultants, Contractors and Local Authorities. The Award will recognise innovative and professional progression that enables and assists in addressing the skills shortages.
Judges will be particularly assessing and considering or evaluating
- Aims and objectives, challenges met and obstacles overcome in delivering training initiative
- Demonstrate innovation in attracting, retaining and developing staff within the highways environment
- Impact of the initiative on the organization staff development and any perceived future benefits to staffing of the highways industry as a whole
- Examples of partnership working or links with education providers, professional bodies and industry which will enable the development of necessary staff skills
- Processes adopted to measure / assess the improving practical / technical 'competence' of staff
